My name is Josh Larson and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado since 2018. I am also a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider (CTMH). I have a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado -- Denver (2016), and have been in the mental health field for about 8 years now.

I am passionate about helping individuals recover and re-discover their ideal selves. I believe that life does not equip us with all of the tools we need to be happy, well-adjusted, well-functioning adults, and that everyone can use support to help them navigate life’s challenges. While my primary modality is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I also draw significantly from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness practices, Motivational Interviewing, strength-based counseling, and solution-focused therapy as well.

Prior to joining Peregrine Counseling I was a Therapist at BetterHelp, and before that I worked for nearly 4 years as a Crisis Clinician, Lead Crisis Clinician, and Clinical Operations & Quality Assurance Specialist at a 24-7 behavioral health crisis organization. The clients I tend to see usually present with a wide variety of issues, including, but certainly not limited to: depression, anxiety, substance use disorders and/or process disorders, trauma/PTSD, relational distress, LGBTQI and minority/marginalized populations issues, life transitions, self-esteem/self-control issues, aging/older adults, and more.

Research suggests that >70% of the benefit that therapy clients derive from counseling is dependent on the strength and depth of their relationship with their therapist. My primary goal as a therapist is to make sure I understand fully your worldview, life experiences, and deepest challenges and hopes, so that we can collaboratively work on a plan to help you reach your goals.
